My life's work, which entails studying and meeting the mental health needs of families through therapy and counseling, was inspired by my previous 15 years of experience working in healthcare in a family practice environment. I focus on family systems, and by using a systematic, comprehensive approach to therapy, I hope to restore wholeness to families. For the past four years, my concentration has been on school-based mental health treatments that help children who are having difficulty with mental health issues, that are related to their education, flourish and prosper in their current surroundings. I've observed the negative effects on children from fatherless families as well as fathers who are overcoming obstacles to participate in family and educational decision-making. My present research, which was part of my doctoral degree focuses on father-child connections. It involves advocacy and inclusion by promoting residential, nonresidential, and other father figure engagement by removing barriers. My goal is to impart knowledge and empowerment by helping family members realize their true potential.
Fathers Invited was established in 2023 as a result of a need that prompted a call to action. Too many fathers miss out on the opportunity to play a significant role in their child’s life. Fathers Invited saw a chance to alter the course of events and help fathers and families get over obstacles that would prevent them from getting involved. We don’t believe that challenges, whether under our control or not, should split apart a family. Fathers Invited recognizes the value of fathers and father figures (grandpas, uncles, siblings, cousins, etc.); this is not meant to diminish the mother’s very selfless role, but to strengthen it. The husband-and-wife team behind Fathers Invited each have personal accounts of how being fatherless has affected them and recognize the important role it played in their growth, way of life, and upbringing. At Fathers Invited, we want to give families the chance to succeed with the help of their entire family systems through personal strengths and empowerment.
I love connecting with community!
